Everything on the menu sounded good so we ordered several things. Loved the eggplant sandwich as well as a spicy chicken soup! It was so good I ordered a bigger size just so I could enjoy it again tomorrow . The other things we ordered were tasty as well. It is a small cozy spot and the owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to coming back!

Soups n Such blew us away. This place in Wayne, NJ, was a total blast for my taste buds. A lost art of traditional cooking lives here — using excellent ingredients to produce a weekly changing menu of soups and sandwiches that truly delights and spoils the local community and any lucky patrons passing through. Single-owner and chef-run, with the help of her family, she pours every drop of love into every bite you take. The owner cares — deeply — about the experience, the warmth, the feeling of being home. Inside, it’s cozy and personal, decorated with old-school kitchen tools and thrifty vintage charm. The menu? Handwritten in chalk. A small touch that adds a whole lot of soul. The food? Hit every note: comfort, enjoyment, umami-rich indulgence — impressing this cook far more than I expected when I first pulled up. Come in with kindness and an appetite for something special, and you’ll leave full, happy, and grateful you read this review. ⸻ This week’s picks: I had the chili soup and the jerk chicken sandwich — and I won’t dive into the specific sauces and details tailored for maximum bite-by-bite perfection. That would be criminal. You simply need to taste this. With a revolving menu and carefully chosen ingredients, this place brings back a culinary culture all but lost in the U.S. It’s a masterclass in how food should be served. She’s originally from Trinidad — polite, warm, a wonderful human being, treating all who walk through the door with respect and care. Kind ask: No smoking out front, and come ready to enjoy the hospitality of this tiny gem.

Wow! My husband just stopped here to get me a little soup and sandwich because I'm not feeling well. We stopped here just on a whim since it was close by. He was blown away by how kind the owner was, and most importantly the food was delicious! The soup was so comforting and flavorful. Definitely will be recommending to all my friends

Soups n Such right off 202 in Wayne. Awesome lunches and soups, ethnic American cuisine. The chef prepares it all. A bit of Caribbean, a bit of Italian American. Whatever she makes do try it. We got doubles , the toffee crunch cake was to die for, my Tuscan bean soup was delish and the jerk chicken sandwich was authentic. Eat in the grandma style dining room, super cozy, or take out. The chef came out to say hello and explain the cuisine. I loved it Adding another Fave on my list

My first time there and I will definitely be coming back! Today I tried the aguadito chicken soup that’s Peruvian and I had the muffuletta sandwich on GF bread that she took the time to toast separately to avoid cross contamination, I love that and appreciate so much because not many restaurants take the time to care. And being a person that just with cross contamination can get really sick, this is means a lot. My new fave spot a hidden gem like another review stated!

2nd time ordering, the first was literal years ago maybe 2 and the food just got better. Definitely recommend the Carrot Ginger Soup and the Eggplant Panini. Also my husband loved the music they were playing! A true neighborhood gem—great food, great atmosphere, and only getting better with time. Can't wait to come back!
